Fahad Bin Sultan University (FBSU) has achieved a significant international academic milestone, with five degree programmes in the College of Computing receiving accreditation from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. BCS is a leading UK-based professional body and the chartered institute for the IT profession, recognized globally for quality assurance in computing and informatics education. The accreditation applies to student intakes from September 2025 to August 2030.

The BCS-accredited programmes are:

1. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (4 years, full-time)
   • “Accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.”
2. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (4 years, full-time)
   • “Accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.”
3. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (5 years, full-time)
   • “Accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.”
4. Master of Science in Computer Engineering (2 years, full-time)
   • “Accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.”
5. Master of Science in Computer Science (2 years, full-time)
   • “Accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.”

This achievement reflects FBSU’s commitment to maintaining high standards of academic quality and continuous improvement. It confirms that the University’s computing programmes meet internationally recognized standards for IT and engineering education. It also strengthens the University’s efforts to prepare highly qualified graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to compete in national and international professional environments.

The accreditation further supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by contributing to the development of highly skilled computing and engineering professionals capable of supporting the Kingdom’s digital transformation, technological advancement, and sustainable economic growth.
